Studio & workshop

Structure was founded in 2008, by Peter Jackson Hussey, and has since evolved over time into a small design studio that offers, general contracting, building design for new construction, and design and fabrication for custom cabinetry, kitchens, millwork, and furniture.

As Certified Passive House Builders Registered with Passive House Institute of the United States (PHIUS)  we strive for low carbon, sustainable solutions when working with our clients.

We prioritize working with natural, and bio-based materials as much as possible such as wood fiber insulation, strawbale insulation, and natural plasters for healthy high performance homes.

We currently have new construction projects under construction and in the design phase where we are based in the Western Catskills of New York.

To date we have designed and completed new construction projects throughout Massachusetts, and in Maine and Western New York. Custom kitchens and furniture for residences in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont.

With an informed and conscientious approach to design, using natural and local materials and an appreciation for traditional building methods and building science, our goal is to craft energy efficient and resilient dwellings and timeless spaces. In addition, offering heirloom quality furnishings, while utilizing an ethos in sustainable design for the health of the planet, the builders and the people and communities we are crafting and creating spaces with and ultimately for.
