Structure was founded in 2008, by Peter Jackson Hussey, and has since evolved over time to a small design studio that offers, general contracting, architectural building design, site planning for new construction, kitchen design for custom cabinetry, millwork and furniture.

As Certified Passive House Builders (CPHB) with the Passive House Institute US (Phius), we strive for sustainable solutions whether designing a new home, or simply sourcing local material for a one of a kind furniture piece.

We custom fabricate all of our own cabinetry, and hardwood furniture in our 3,500 square foot woodshop where our design studio is also located, between Jamaica Plain and Roslindale on the back side of the always inspiring 280 acre wonderland of the Arnold Arboretum.

We love to travel when needed often working with clients all over, where ever the projects of most interest that strike a cord takes us.

To date we have designed and completed new construction projects in Massachusetts and Maine, custom kitchens and furniture for residences in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York.

We also have completed projects, and currently have some under construction and in the design phase where we have strong ties in the Western Catskills of New York.

With an informed and conscientious approach to design, using natural materials and an appreciation for traditional methods, our goal is to craft resilient dwellings and timeless spaces, along with heirloom quality furnishings, while utilizing an ethos in sustainable design for the health of the planet and those who we get to work with, and alongside.
